Connect online

Are other members of The New Agenda in your neighborhood? In the same city, the same state, or even right next door? This is an open thread for members to post their names and locations. (But remember, this is the internet, so be careful about posting personal details.)

To be connected with other members in your local area, email us at: ConnectLocally@yahoo.com. The email address you provide will be shared with Team Captains and members in your area who would like to meet or exchange ideas about local New Agenda events. If you wish your email address to be shared only with a specific person you found on our list, please indicate that in your email.

In future we plan to have a zip-code locator and maybe, just maybe, even an interactive map!

@ Violet Socks, I love your personal blog. I was shocked at my level of agreement with your writings. I think of you as a ‘Rogue Wave’ feminist. Clinton and Palin were both deemed to be going rogue. I say rogue is the way to go.

Sometimes I think the reason the word “feminist” is able to be used as an insult is because of conversations like this:

Me: I don’t understand how portraying oneself as a sex slave is empowerment. (referring to Britney Spears)
Sister: I am sorry you don’t understand feminism.

I can think of other sisters who would say that too, just to be difficult.

Don’t put too much stock in it.

We have a local Hillary supporters group that is still meeting once a month, with members located all over MI. We’re also still using the Meetup.com system for this since it protects our privacy and has a built in RSVP feature. Our next meetup is coming up next week even though we lost many members after the election.

I’ll be sure to bring this topic up for starting a new group on here at The New Agenda for Michigan. Will look forward to seeing a system put in place to organize meetings and recruit interested members.

Jen the Michigander: I would be willing to travel to Detroit and anywhere in the state to hold or attend meetings. I’ll send in my email address so that people in MI can contact me.

Ive written every sponsor and am taping shows to get more (or less hopefully).
