It has been a while coming, but I have gathered a COMPLETE Beck Sponsor List for both his radio show and TV show. A frequent and well-deserved complaint is that men focus too much on female politician’s appearances and ignore their policies. Glenn Beck has provided us with the most startling example of why focusing on appearance rather than policy is detrimental to everyone. On his TV show, Beck has enjoyed …

Thanks for Marille and Nancy who sent me a cover letter by Artemis about the NYU-ISAW Exhibit The Lost World of Old Europe.
I traveled into New York City this past weekend having only a cursory knowledge of what to expect. And of course, at that time, I had not read the wonderful piece that Artemis has since posted on our blog.
Even to my extremely untrained eye, there was something terribly wrong with this exhibit. The artifacts just did not match up with the story line told on the wall …

In the coming days, The New Agenda will be launching our new website for The New Agenda Foundation, our 501(c)(3). The Foundation’s work will be educational, and our primary issue will be teen dating violence and the sexualization of our teenage girls.
Please also be on the lookout for information on an educational event on teen dating violence co-sponsored by The New Agenda Foundation and Liz Claiborne Inc. (commitee in formation).
And for those of you thinking, well maybe elsewhere, but not in my community, think again.
Everything I’ve read in the …

The New Agenda is inviting our DC viewers to attend a lunchtime event today on teen dating violence hosted by our partner in MADE, Liz Claiborne.
Top teen dating violence experts, parents, educators and teens from around the country are gathering on Capitol Hill to draw attention to the urgent problem of digital dating abuse, and to call for increased prevention efforts.
Here’s a note from The New Agenda’s Amy Siskind:
I’ll personally vouch for how important and very real this issue has become. A girl in my daughter’s 7th grade …

We are currently gathering a list for action against Glenn Beck. Our fight against sexism continues. We defend women of all parties, and we protest against sexism from all parties. The sexism is nearly identical across the board. Let me share some similarities with you.
On November 7, 2008, Chris Matthews described Hillary Clinton as giving a
“barn-burner speech, which is harder to give for a woman; it can grate on some …

After hearing barely the utterance of a women’s issue out of Harry Reid’s mouth for as long as I can recall, imagine my surprise yesterday to hear Senator Reid speaking out on domestic violence.
What you might ask gave Senator Reid this epiphany on this escalating crisis in our country? While violence generally in our country has been flat to down for the better part of a decade, violence against women continues to soar. And of course, the untold crisis of teen dating violence continues to froth unnoticed by politicians like …

I’m feeling frosted. How is it that some of the best ski jumpers in the WORLD are not allowed to compete in jumping in this year’s winter Olympics? Well, the answer becomes clear when one realizes that these accomplished athletes are women.
It turns out that ski jumping is the only remaining Olympic sport that still bans women. So I think it’s time for this Olympic sport to update its look.

Sexism does not recognize partisan differences and knows no political boundary. When you get down to the very essence of sexism, their attitudes and behaviors are eerily similar if not identical at times regardless of political affiliation: John Edwards(D) and Mark Sanford (R);
Hiram Monserrate (D) and Elliot Spitzer (D).
Now, Chris Mathews has long been the liberal voice of sexism. This past month or two, a conservative voice of sexism has emerged on …

I’ve been a fan of Glenn Beck’s for awhile primarily because I appreciate his investigative skills and all of the information he has been providing on our country and the current administration.
But I am starting to see a rather disturbing pattern developing in his interviews and treatment of female politicians who, perhaps, are getting more attention than him.
It started with the Sarah Palin interview. His questions were downright weird. Like, she was supposed to …
