Fifteen years after her famous speech in Bejing, Secretary Hillary Clinton raised the bar declaring:
“Women’s progress is human progress, and human progress is women’s progress once and for all.”

You can read and watch more of Secretary Clinton’s remarks at the UN Commission on the Status of Women here.

March 10th is Harriet Tubman Day!
Harriet Tubman is one of our most celebrated American heroines and I was very pleased to learn that she has her own holiday. In 1990 President George H. W. Bush declared March 10 as Harriet Tubman Day and in 2003 Governor George Pataki of New York declared it a state holiday.
Tubman, who was born a slave in Maryland some time around 1820, escaped to freedom at the age of 29. Not content with just her own emancipation, Tubman helped more than 300 slaves to freedom …

Wow! Meg Whitman is really on a roll with the endorsements. The latest is very exciting! Californian Condoleezza Rice endorsed Meg Whitman for Governor of her home state. Per the Whitman campaign:
“California is my home and there is only one person running for Governor who can lead the way toward rebuilding our state,” Secretary Rice said. “In my experiences in and out of government, I find the most effective leaders to be those who maintain a clear vision, mobilize diverse groups, and inspire them to work together in confronting the …

Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought in my younger years that I would be so involved in martial arts. Five and a half years ago my husband and I signed up our eldest son for Taekwondo classes through Grandmaster Sam J. Kim and his son Master Sung C. Kim here in western NY to help build up our son’s athletic ability as well as teach him the benefits of self-control and …

Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball recently moved Mississippi’s 1st House District from “leans Democrat” to “leans Republican”. This is good news for Angela McGlowan who, if elected, will be the FIRST WOMAN ever elected to represent Mississippi in Congress – House or Senate.
Ms. McGlowan also recently received a very high profile endorsement, the famous Judge Joe Brown.
On Friday, Feb. 18, Judge Joe Brown will be on campus at Ole Miss to address the students and people of Mississippi and give Congressional candidate, Angela McGlowan, his official endorsement. Judge Joe Brown, the …

Congratulations to Meg Whitman! As the San Francisco Chronicle reports:
Meg Whitman may not be fond of referring to herself as a Republican in her ubiquitous radio ads — and Steve Poizner was the GOP guv candidate snuggling with the right-wing at the CPAC confab last week along with US Senate candidate Chuck DeVore– but it was Meg who snagged some big time conservative love Monday when the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Group PAC endorsed her.
Straight from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association website:
High taxes and out-of-control spending have pushed California state government …

We’ve written extensively here about Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and her bid to become governor of Texas.
Hat tip to Ann MacNaughton for letting us know:
No one in Texas worked harder for Hillary than my good friend Barbara Ann Radnofsky.
Well that certainly got our attention!
Barbara is running unopposed in the Texas Democratic primary on March 2 for attorney general.
You can read more on Barbara’s campaign website here. And some highlights courtesy of Ann’s ActBlue page

Meg Whitman is running strong! The latest polls show her ahead of her Republican rival by 30 percentage points and about even with the presumptive Democratic candidate, Jerry Brown. Go Meg!
But it seems the good ol’ boys of the Democratic party are running scared and, in a state of desperation, are resorting to a cash and trash solution to take down the California Megawoman.
Three separate Democratic and pro-labor groups are poised to raise more than $40 million to start trashing GOP front-runner Meg Whitman.
Over the next week, the Democratic Governors …

You may have already read that Angela McGlowan is definitely running for Congress in Mississippi’s first district. John Fund, in a Wall Street Journal op ed piece calls McGlowan a “Tea Party Heroine” and gives her an apt description:
The feisty Ms. McGlowan is a force of nature, and a direct challenge to the GOP good ol’ boy network. While not conversant with the details of all issues, she is a fast learner and clearly would have national fundraising ability. She also has a good chance of winning the GOP primary.

In an earlier post, Halane Hughes explained perfectly well why Kay Bailey Hutchison is the perfect pro-woman candidate who will work for benefit of all women. Kay Bailey Hutchinson understands the importance of bi-partisanship. Women’s rights should never be a partisan issue. Now, I want to explain why Kay Bailey Hutchison is the perfect pro-Texan candidate who will work for the benefit of all Texans and why Rick Perry is anti-Texan.
Few …
