Today the Senate voted on an amendment that would allow the Health and Human Services secretary to require insurers to cover preventive health screenings free of charge. This protective step for women came as a result of a push by women politicians – of both parties.
Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., and Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine co-sponsored an amendment to the healthcare bill – that amendment passed yesterday by a vote of 61-39.
CBS reports:

I love the contrast. In the previous post, France is mandating parity in executive leadership jobs held by women. Here in the U.S., that’s not even a dream. We’re forced to pass laws to avoid premature death.

Good for our women law makers of both parties. It just goes to show how inadequate a government by men for men and of men can be to the majority who are women.
Good point Bes – but I would take that a step further. Government should not be making recommendations of this kind in any form.
I agree with you Kathy, very scary!
This is why I will vote gender over party from here on out. It took two women to come up with this amendment. Men, no matter their party, just don’t have our best interests at heart.
GXM, they spend their lives trying to get their hands on and worshipping tits and look how little they think of them in the end … *shakes head*
If Playboy and Penthouse had ANY moral center at all, they’d donate 10% of their profits to breast cancer research right out of the gate. That alone tells you all you need to know about how “pro-woman” the porn industry is.
