The following Member Alert has been sent out this morning.  If you would like to sign up to receive email alerts, go here.

It’s time to talk to our teenagers about teen dating violence.

Join us on Thursday, December 3rd on the nationally broadcast radio show It’s Time to Talk.  It’s an all day radio broadcast including domestic violence experts, attorneys general, state legislators, corporate and government leaders, celebrities, parents and teens.

We’ll be talking about what we all can do to end the cycle of abuse, how we can all get involved in prevention, and how and where victims can get help.

The New Agenda’s Amy Siskind will be participating in the radio broadcast from 12-1 p.m. EST.  Information on the show can be found here.

The New Agenda is also proud to announce that we have become a national partner of MADE along with Liz Claiborne, REDBOOK Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, SafeHorizon, Day One and others. MADE is national coalition devoted to raising awareness and reducing violence against teens.

The New Agenda is committed to the safety of women and girls.  Please join us in this battle by signing up to become a member today.

Rifqa Bary is a teen in need of a LOT of support…but where are the women?????

    It sounds like the Ohio court is going to ask her to MEDIATE w/her family;
i.e. talk things over and make nice.

If that happens,….I can’t even write the words. It simply CANNOT BE PERMITTED TO HAPPEN.

What is the New Agenda doing to help Rifqa? She not only faces danger from her immediate family but also from the Facebook group that formed to murder her.

Can the New Agenda send a contingent to the rally for her on Dec 22? Can the New Agenda get NOW involved to help Rifqa??

    Atlasshrugs has the details.

    Annie,

Unfortunately children have very few rights and they are often placed back with extremely abusive parents (note: the most dangerous place for a child is in the home and that goes for a woman too).

I definitely think that the New Agenda should speak for Rifqa. Absolutely.

    Amy, what do you think?

Hi Amy, thanks for responding. I left the blog name Atlasshrugs in my first comment. I may have wrongly assumed you are familiar with it – I thought most political bloggers were. Here’s the url:

There’s a search function in the column on the right. Search for Rifqa Bary. You will find everything, including information about the rally.

Pam Gellar has been at the forefront of political bloggers rising to Rifqa’s defense. Other bloggers have been supportive, but Pam is leading the charge.
I often wonder where all the other women are…

Time is of the essence. We simply cannot let Rifqa down; we cannot allow our incredibly ignorant and corrupt system let her down. Her life is at stake, literally!
