Yesterday Meghan McCain wrote a piece describing how the Letterman jokes reveal a double standard in the treatment of Republicans. Well there is a double standard for sure. But the double standard is how women are treated by our media. Look what they did to your mother, Meghan (in video below)!

Viewers – please take the time to watch this important video produced by a co-founder of The New Agenda at the end of the 2008 elections.

So did Letterman cross the line? You bet he did. But can we count on our media to be objective and point this out? Absolutely not. Our media has a terrible bias against the women of this country.

Thanks for Rebecca at Conservatives4Palin for sharing this video. Watch at your own peril:

Okay, let me say this. If Letterman or any other person of the media or any other venue had said those words about my teenage daughter, I would be on any and every media and blog venue that would listen. I would be defending my daughter. I think Todd and Governor Palin have a right and obligation to speak out for their child. And what buttEd and Donny are missing is that just as many dads are upset as mothers. And us mothers are not some silly flock of sheep who care because Governor Palin told us to. We are defending our collective culture from this type of crap because we all know that our daughter could be next. And women and men of ALL political parties think this is appalling and has no place in our country’s culture. This has nothing to do with political party and everything to do with our next generation. Our country deserves better.

This is why The New Agenda exists. Because, frankly, we are not going to take this crap anymore. And let me tell you, the country is listening. Know why Chris Matthews did not run for the PA Senate Seat – because of the New Agenda. Know why Larry Summers did not get the Treasury Secretary position – us again. And so much more. The New Agenda will continue to speak out against sexism and misogyny which has been breeding in our country. We want to make this country better for the next generation – in fact, we refuse to let pundits like Ed and Donny advance their idiotic POV. We’re here. We’re not going away. Please join and support us!

Letterman is a deranged slob- and his tired 1985 schtick’s about as funny as a train wreck. I say give Todd Palin five minutes alone with this creep- maybe then he’d get the hard education in moral clarity that he so obviously lacks.

And if Sarah Palin is SO silly and irrelevant, why the obsession?

Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it’s not like it’s not obvious. She’s been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.

Go get em, Sarah- and don’t mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion-

Does anyone recall the time a music critic wrote a bad review of Margaret Truman’s voice recital and President Truman reacted by writing a scathing letter to that critic?

    Here’s what Truman wrote:

    - – - – - – - – - – - – - – -
“Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you’ll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!

“Pegler, a gutter snipe, is a gentleman alongside you. I hope you’ll accept that statement as a worse insult than a reflection on your ancestry.”
    - – - – - – - – - – - – - – -

Can you imagine what Truman would have threatened Letterman with if Letterman had made that joke (or anything close to it) about Truman’s daughter.

I wish Harry Truman were alive today to show us what he would do!

Margaret Carlson also wrote an article in The Daily Beast defending Letterman and slamming Palin. I wrote a critique of her article here:

Regarding Meghan McCain, I am really excited about her increasing popularity in the media. She is an example of a Republican feminist that appeals to younger people. I think she is very hopeful, outspoken, and energetic. She has commented about the media’s negative treatment of Hillary as well. Her critiques may not be flawless, but she generally gets it, which is a lot more than we can say for Margaret Carlson, who is a prominent journalist and self-declared “feminist.”

I find it puzzling that anyone can believe that Governor Palin wished to ignite or prolong this ’spat’ with Lettermann. She had just completed an agreement with the largest company in the world, EXon Mobil to work with Transcanada to build the biggest energy project in North American History! This was not only a personal triumph for Palin, but for the very healthy bipartisan process with and within the Alaskan legislature. Does anyone with an ounce of intelligence really believe that she needed this diversion with a creep like Letterman? She did not need publicity; she already had all the publicity she needed, for goodness sake!

Hey Donny Deuche is a scumbag. And by the way, the democratic party took a out-of-wedlock baby and paraded him out onto the stage. Can we just agree that Donny is a mouthpiece for the Obama smear machine and start telling jokes about Sasha and Malia? No? Well then shut the F-up!

Thanks for posting the video “Where’s The Line?” I had not seen it; I think you ought to post it at least once a week! I sent it on to a number of women friends, two of whom recently told me that they could not “recall” any mysogyny going on during the campaigns. I have not heard back yet. I note a certain amount of apathy among women, as if they have settled, that this is the way it is, and a lot of what is said on TV is either no big deal or free speech. And I’m talking here about well educated, intellectual women. In the meantime, I’m apoplectic and I’m being advised to take meds and calm down. Thanks to this organization, I don’t feel alone. Keep pushing.

the very sad thing about all of this is that many liberal/progressive women are also falling over themselves to rationalize supporting Letterman and making political points against Palin…very disappointed in Tina Brown and many of the so called female democratic stategists that have given their opinions on TV…

…to many democrats taking too many cheap shots at the expense of girls…mothers and airline stewdardesses…

Didn’t Oprah usher in the new age of media understanding that victims of child abuse are not to blame and are not going to remain silent?

Well, now our schools tell us that victims of bullying will no longer be silent and speaking up is the right thing to do.

How do you think Willow feels about being called a whore? Letterman can not bully a child in our society and not have decent people speak out.

I have raised the issue of misogyny with a Californian woman who also happens to be disabled. She is vocal about rights for people with a disability, and about racism, but strangely silent on misogyny. Go figure! She laughed at me when I said I thought Sarah Palin was the best candidate in the election. I calmly set her straight with the facts. If she felt chastised or even that I was right, she wasn’t going to admit it. Or maybe she was just thinking that I must be mad and not with the program!

I would also like to say that I watched your Where’s the line? video and some of the worst things I saw in it were directed at Michelle Obama and they made me sick, even though I don’t particularly care for her. Thank you for setting the New Agenda!

Media Misogynist Fratboys: the New Cultural KKK

I do not particularly share Gov. Palin’s political ideology. Yes, applauded her receiving the V-P nomination from a man brave enough to have made his party a pioneer–Sen.McCain. She appears to be competent, hard-working and her speech at her nomination was absolutely superbly felt and echoed far and wide.
I recall her intelligent commentary during an interview (I believe with Janet Napolitano as co-interviewee) immediately after her nomination. Her ability to negotiate the multi-billion-dollar TransCanada oil deal, her including gays in her Alaskan agenda and not overruling the pro-choice decision citing her “constitutional responsibility” to do so and not “inflict (my) personal opinion”. All this makes me considerably angrier that she has been criticized by the media’s obamyopic misogynist fratboys for…..protecting her mother’s right to protest the disgustingly sexist, woman-hatred and child abuse contemplated by a sextogenarian joke of a perv who thinks it’s “funny”! Don Imus got fired by NBC for his racist remarks. Why is Letterperv not getting the same just treatment by CBS? Are women still second-class citizens and their daughters’ sexuality fair game by the male cultural KKK?

New Agenda, please keep asking “Where’s the line”–and one fine day women of all political stripes will unite to form an indelible line of female cultural steel that spells “E-N-O-U-G-H”. The most significant culture war has officially started. Fluffy Matthews, Herr Olbermann, buttEd, Venomous McCafferty (he called Hillary Clinton a “scolding Mother” as if this was an insult!) better be prepared for the fight that will leave them with permanent ink bruises–and hopefully on a pink slip!
