Editor’s Note: Sexism? What Sexism? is a series highlighting sexism and misogyny in our culture, answers for those asking.

“What’s all this fuss about sexism?”
“Sexism? I just don’t see it.”
“Can you give me some examples of this sexism?”

Someone emailed me a lovely little piece of “journalism” today which perfectly provides an example of such sexism.

`

MATTHEWS: What happened between those two?

FINEMAN: It was a lost weekend that didn’t go beyond the weekend.

MATTHEWS: He thought she was something special. He thought she was the genuine article.

FINEMAN: He had no idea. He had no idea, with all die respect to the Senator. He had no idea what he was getting. They came into the convention and I was covering it closely at the time.

MATTHEWS: What was she – a mail-order bride?

I suggest answering the above questions about sexism with more questions.

How would you feel if you heard someone say what these “journalists” said in this video clip about your daughter? What about your mother, your grandmother, your sister, your niece or your best friend?

Well, guess what? Sarah Palin is a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece and best friend. She’s also the very successful governor of our country’s largest state, and she was the second woman to run for the second highest office in the United States. She will forever be a part of our nation’s history.

You know what else she is? She’s a person. She does not deserve to be treated this way. No person deserves to be treated this way. It is wrong.

What else is it?

Sexist? Yes. Misogynist? You betcha!

What is it not? Journalism.

I just don’t think anyone cares.

With the news today… that Kaine is funneling state $$$ to anti-abortion “clinics.”

And that pro-Sharia, Koh, has been appointed as State Dept. Legal Advisor….

I am starting to feel that we, women, are the brunt of some huge April Fool’s joke.

    Only it’s for real.

Perhaps journalists across the country would be able to compete with bloggers in the internet if in fact they did more journalism. As is, I don’t feel so bad that many newspapers are shutting down.

Well we know that we were successful in squashing Matthew’s potential run for PA Senate. Looks like our work is not done. What a butthead!

    Fineman BTW, not much better.

I don’t think the misogynistic so-called news blogs are any better. In fact. Matthews and Fineman, et al, take their cue from the news bloggers.

What if they had said Brazile was a ‘lost weekend’ , or used sexual analogy whenever they talked about Obama?

Not only is this quick video sexist – it is down right disrespectful and makes a mockery of Gov. Palin, while both these men laugh at each other!!!

Sadly it is the prevailing Democrat male perspective. Aren’t they a bunch of pompous pathetic twits.

Perhaps this explains why Sarah did not choose to speak at CPAC and at the Senate dinner next month. Every time she opens her mouth, the left attacks and ridicules her. She has 10 ethics complaints filed against for for silly things, like talking to the press after the election” on state time”,,like wearing a popular designer jacket at a snow mobile race( Michelle wears donated designer stuff all the time but no comments from the press), etc. Se is nearly bankrupt because of all the legal fees. Perhaps she has grown tired of the harassment…who could blame her for skipping some speeches and going dark for awhile. Same on you Matthews with your tingly leg and all

Bes – I think it is the male perspective – not just for Democrats. The only difference with the Republican men right now is they are in the minority – more of the bad ones are out of office (as opposed to the Democrats – who just about any one of them could win an election right now with a D after the name). So – they can’t act like pompous pathetic twits because they need all the support they can get. It also shows how political pariies have used women for their advancement, then knock them down so they can are in power.

SORRY – too many typos. Here is the correct sentence:

It also shows how the political parties have used women for their advancement, then knock them down so they can remain in power…

After retyping this – I would also add the word businesses after political parties….

I hadn’t realized though that Fineman was such a schmuck.
Yet these degrading comments continue. I used to write MSNBC constantly, but better to spend time doing positive things with TNA.

Ah yes, Howard Fineman — he’s the misogynistic piece of scum who said during the primary that Hillary should be locked up somewhere and persuaded to shoot herself and that her death would be an honor killing (with the clear implication that that’s a good thing) right after laughing it up with his buddy, the disgustingly bigoted Keith Olbermann, when the latter announced that what the Dems really needed was for a male superdelegate to “take [Hillary Clinton] into a room and only he comes out.” Fineman’s response: “Why didn’t I think of that apt scenario, Keith my man, that’s how she should have been disposed of originally!” Don’t think I’ll ever forget that.

Sasha, I stand totally corrected on Fineman. I hadn’t remembered he was that lower- than- pond- scum -schmuckly- pig with Olbermann and those infamous remarks. I hope I redeem myself a little by saying I stopped watching MSNBC before seeing that episode, with only Olbermann’s scheissly remarks sticking in my brain.

There are many Democratic women that feel this way also. I hear this kind of nonsense from Dim women all the time.

Yes the Revolution. How do we put a stop to the degrading comments. Why is it ok for men to openly joke about murdering a woman? How do we put an end to it once and for all. How do we make them pay?

Howard Fineman’s latest article discusses the Obama presidency thus-far by likening him to a super-hero–I think the title might even be “Super-Prez” or something like that.

After reading it I was left with the visual of Howard Fineman’s head on a little kid’s body, zooming around his kitchen with a gingham dish towel tied around his neck.

these men embarrass themselves, and nobody else more than themselves.

and btw, this is NOT a knock on Obama. as a matter of fact if I were the president I’d be embarrassed by articles like that.

Revolution. Hmmmm. Money talks. I have been wracking my brain trying to think of something that we could get women to boycott that would show the strength of our voice. Something that would put a dent in the dollars. Any ideas?
