Welcome to The New Agenda Blog

|Welcome to the blog for The New Agenda! The paint’s still wet, but we’re rapidly building a terrific roster of contributors who will keep this a busy and fascinating place. Dawn C. will be the managing editor of the blog and will contribute regular posts herself. She’s your go-to person for day-to-day issues with the blog and for story ideas. We also have The Stiletto on board as a contributor, and she’ll be joining us very shortly with some articles on the Palin controversy. Other contributors will be announced in the days ahead.
I’m Violet Socks and I’m the editor of the website; you can email me with any questions, suggestions, or problems with the site.
To get us started, I’m posting the video of Harriet Christian’s appearance on the Neil Cavuto Show this afternoon. Harriet is a member of The New Agenda, and she very cleverly managed to insert a mention of our group in the interview!
A reminder, though: our group is non-partisan. We as a group do not endorse John McCain and we do not endorse Barack Obama. Our individual members are a diverse lot, and include voters of every persuasion. The New Agenda’s job is to fight sexism wherever we find it and to work together to advance women’s rights, regardless of political affiliation.

It looks great, Violet. I just found my way into the admin section, and now Sarah Palin has taken the stage. I’m going to watch, and get back to you later. I promise not to talk about what she’s wearing.
But her jacket was beautiful.
That is one powerful woman. I’m proud. Politically I don’t agree with her on much, but I admire her as a person and respect her. And like her, too! Love her humor and strength.
Anybody who underestimates her is a fool.
Watching tonight, it was clear that the speech had been written almost as a catharsis-inducing response to the horror that’s been piled on her. Catharsis for us, I mean, and of course for her party. A way for us to explode our anger and to laugh at the idiots attacking her.
The cheers were enormous, and I was cheering too. And I’m not a Republican!
Leave your Response
Supporting women.
Ending sexism.
Finding common ground.
